Aidans Attic is a web-based business that offers gift and novelty items at a reasonable price. My current product description that is used by my web site is as follows. ?Aidans Attic Gifts and Novelties offer a wide selection of household decorative and gift items. Categories include seasonal items such as Mothers Day gifts, and other major gift giving holidays in their season, along with many other varied categories.? The products offered range from seasonal item, ethnic and culturally themed items, religious themed items and general household decoration items. The target market for my product is middle to upper class women and grand parents who like to decorate their homes, and those who are looking for a special gift for a birthday, holiday or other special occasion. My competitors are other e-business, small local gift shops and swap meets that offer similar products. There are others who are using the same supplier, so I must market my products in a unique and attractive way as possible. The pricing of my products is the suggested retail price as recommended by my supplier. My markup is such that I am able to offer discounts of a reasonable percentage and still operate profitably. My channel of distribution is very simple. Products are ordered online, I receive payment through PayPal, I am notified by e-mail of a sale, I place an online order to my supplier, the payment is made directly from my account, the product is drop shipped the next business day. All of this can be done in 5 minutes or less, and I can be in my underwear while I work! Being a home based business with no overhead means that my budgeting requirements are small. A small amount of sales will cover my costs, and many of these costs are something I would have budgeted for personal reasons. Advertising will either be done locally or online.

Aidans Attic Gifts is an online business. It was named after my grandson and patterned after many online businesses. Aidan?s Attic Gifts is a family-run Internet business that specializes in selling quality gift items at an affordable price with excellent customer service. The selection that will be offered includes hand crafted specialty items along with a fine assortment of imported gifts items.

What we do
Internet shoppers Geographic segment. The research that I have acquired shows that the most likely areas of the country that are receptive to the gift and novelty products that my website is selling include the Pacific Region, the West South Central region, the South Atlantic region, and the New England region. Each region has its specific areas of interest to my marketing plans. The South Atlantic region has a large population of retired persons, which include grand parents especially grand mothers. Research shows that grand mothers like knickknacks and items to put of shelves and mantles. The New England region has a lot of established families and homes. Being established means that people are looking to decorate their homes rather than start new houses and the landscaping and maintenance that is required to start a home. Their discretionary income if freed up to make small fun purchases. The Pacific Region is home to many segments of society that include New England transplants and the retired folk that are found in the South Atlantic region. This is also true of the West South Central region, which is growing in population at a rapid pace. The city or metro size of the New England that I will target is the 50,000 ?100,000, up to the 500,000-1,000,000. The city or metro size of the other regions will range from the 50,000 ?100,000, up to the 1,000,000-4,000,000. Density is of less concern to my business, as it is an e-business, so all three segments, urban, suburban and rural will be target in that the Internet is accessible to everyone. Local shoppers ? swap meets and kiosk displays. The part of my business that will sell directly to customers will be done locally within a 20-mile area, which is suburban in nature. The target range of these potential customers is the Pacific Region of course, the 50,000-200,000 city population size range, the age range of 35-49, 50-64, and the 65+ with varying family size. Females will be targeted more than males. Income range will be over $30,000 up to $100,000 as that is what research shows is the income range of swap meet shoppers.
